How we buy: 10 family wineries, 6 regions

Above Wines is led by Aldo Bove, who holds a degree in Enology and Viticulture and comes from Angri, near Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. He moved to the U.S. in 2017 to bring the authentic essence of Italian winemaking with him.

We work with 10 family-owned partner wineries across 6 regions: Puglia, Campania, Calabria, Toscana, Abruzzo, Piemonte.

Selection begins with a comprehensive enological analysis. Each wine then undergoes a sensory evaluation before it reaches the shelf.

The focus is Italy’s indigenous grapes. In Aldo’s words: “Italy’s grapes are endless treasures, and it’s time the world woke up to them.”

Members of the Above Wines Club receive each delivery with winemaker video reviews, easy-to-read tech sheets with tasting and pairing notes, and cultural charts connecting each wine to its land.
