Meet the winemaker
From the Amalfi Coast to Texas.
Aldo grew up in Angri, near Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast, and holds a degree in Enology and Viticulture. In 2017 he moved to the U.S. to bring the authentic essence of Italian winemaking with him.
His family’s roots trace back to the House of Bove in Ravello, whose coat of arms hangs in Ravello’s Duomo. That crest is the Above Wines logo. Alfonso Vischi, a chef from Rome, joined him in the project.

Gaglioppo is the red grape of Cirò, on the Ionian coast. Sun-warmed, savory, and still little known outside southern Italy.
