Tuscany is the region that made Italian wine legible to the world, and the one most often flattened into a cliché. The bottles we import come from Chianti and Montalcino, where Sangiovese gets its transparency — sour cherry, dried herbs, and a tannin that grips without shouting — and from a Super Tuscan that steps outside the rules on purpose.
